So thankful that these guys were watched over this past weekend.
We went to Fairview for a baby shower for Chels on Friday. The boys wanted to go to some football games (and didn't want to go to the shower) so they came later Friday evening. My Dad, Andrew and Pepper came together in the truck (thank heavens) and hit an elk in the middle of the road going 65 mph. The elk shattered the windshield, and the drivers side mirror hit the elk with so much impact that it blew through the drivers side window. Then the frame of the mirror flew in between my Dad's hands and face and then right in between his and Andrew's heads and hit the back window behind Andrew. There was glass everywhere and Andrew said that the noise was soooo loud and the elk was so big, he thought that my Dad was going to be dead. All three of them (my Dad, Andrew and Pepper) walked away with no injuries. No cuts, scrapes, or scratches..... just glass in their hair, all over their clothes, and in their eyes and teeth. I am sooo grateful that they were being watched over because there is no logical reason why they weren't hurt. There were so many "what ifs" that could have happened but apparently Heavenly Father thought I and many other people still needed Andrew and my Dad around. Here are pictures of the accident the morning after it happened:
| Surprisingly it barely dented the frame. |

WOW linds i can't believe this. My Mom and Dad told me about this yesterday and I couldn't believe it! I"m so glad that everyone is ok and that no one was hurt. The pictures are unbelievable! That elk was huge!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe that happened!!! What a blessing that no one was hurt. That elk was so huge you would have expected more damage. Glad everyone is okay!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is actually Jared and that is nuts! I am so grateful that neither were hurt. I was going to ask if you were able to take the Elk home and cook it up. However after looking at the pictures I can see why you didn't. We are stoked to see you all healthy and happy this Thanksgiving, Elk free.
